Guinea Pig Travel

Being fond of traveling as well as being a pet lover (especially of guinea pigs), you might want to bring along your most beloved pet.  But in doing so, you must consider various aspects.

Destination

First, take note of the destination. Determine whether or not the place you are going into has a very cold or very hot climate. In such weather conditions, your guinea pig would really be better off left at home. This in turn will ensure that it is safe.

Conditions

Second to consider would be the change in specific conditions that your pet will be facing soon. Try to test  how your guinea pig can handle stress and take note the condition and its effect on your pet. As you may already know, shifts in the environment and situations may be hard to handle for most guinea pigs.

Accomodation

Moreover, you also have to know whether or not the hotels, inns, or whatever place you will be staying into allows such pets to be taken in their rooms. Nevertheless, if they do not permit the creature, what else can you do – leave it at home. You need to think about what you will take for your guinea pig pet to live in whilst its away.

Transport

As you think about  this, you must also regard your means of transport. If you really want to bring along your pet in your car, just make sure that the temperature inside is not too high or low. On the other hand, if you are planning to travel by plane, then absolutely, you will have to leave it at home. This is true because of the shifts in temperatures once it is placed in the cargo area.  In the past years, lots of guinea pigs have died even before the airplane leaves land.

With all these factors considered, if you really want to travel with your guinea pig, give it a  go with  all the necessary considerations. Or else, have someone that you can trust to take care of your pet guinea pig at home while you are away.
